All Souls - Composed on Halloween utilizing a pulse designed to create and release tension. The opening and closing sections are in 11/8, while the middle section in a pulsating four. The piece utilizes the juxtaposition of the plucked Chinese Zheng against the driving Africanesque rhythmic structures. The image is that of souls incarnating and returning home, incarnating and returning, again and again.
Robert ÆOLUS Myers is a composer, performer and producer best known for his cinematic soundscapes incorporating flute, synthesizer, and percussion. These works utilizing western classical and indigenous compositional stylings draw readily from Asian, Arabic, and African influences. He has composed four albums—AEOLIAN MELODIES and RAYS, released by Global Pacific Records and THE MAGICIAN and HIGH PRIESTESS as independent releases.
Robert has participated in devotional music for over 40 years. He has played harmonium and sung the Cosmic Chants of Paramahansa Yogananda for Self Realization Fellowship services, drummed for Sufi Dhikrs, 9played flute and percussion for the Mevlevi Turn, and was a long time inner circle musician for the Dances of Universal Peace as led by Yakzan Hugo Valdez. Most recently Robert has been playing in support of kirtan wallahs throughout New England and beyond.
The HIGH PRIESTESS is a collection of 12 compositions for Breath, Birth, and Re-Birth. This project assembled as a soundtrack for negotiating conscious birth was originally composed for theatre, dance, and live performance. These provocative works drawing from contemporary, tribal, Asian, and Arabic influences with percussion, synthesizer, and flute throughout have been found specifically helpful for labor and delivery. Enjoyed during the pregnancy the expectant parents and the child in utero are invited to breathe, move, and dance toward being. It is hoped that you find these melodies as helpful for the celebration of your own new life as we have for ours.
The HIGH PRIESTESS is a retrospective of works that have been remastered for this project. The album has been carefully scored to mirror the experience of birth and rebirth. The compositions are welcoming enough to invite the newborn, powerful enough to hold the intensity of delivery, and evocative enough to be useful for breathwork.

This is the long play version of On Angels Becoming Human from the 1984 release of Aeolian Melodies. This is one of the first deep ambient pieces to arrive on the New Age scene.
A poem from the original release:
On Angels Becoming Human
You are... alone.
You reach out... you wait.
A door... the knob.
You hold it.
You turn it.
You open the door.
